This
site is dedicated to the music of Crowded House and Neil Finn -
specifically, the live shows, and trading of them.
It does
not provide up to the minute information about studio releases or
upcoming shows. There are a lot of people who already
provide this information (and do a very good job of it too.)
Things
you may need to read, if you aren't familiar with Jane Music, are
listed on the left.
[xx/xx/xx] Welcome to Jane Music... |
An introduction for people who haven't seen the site before.
Jane Music is an FTP site that
trades live recordings of Split Enz, Crowded House and Finn-related
music.
Read the history
and then how to get involved, from
the pages on the shortcut menu to the left. Instructions on
how to start trading are included. Please note that the siteop
may take a few days to process email and send you the site
details.
Check out the file list, and
make sure you read all the other pages on the shortcut bar
as well..

Update |
Still waiting on the missing webcast tracks!
A whole bunch of new shows have gone up
lately - I will update the trading list after exams - however,
some have been incomplete due to a lack of hard disc space.
I am considering purchasing a 30gb hard drive to put into
the server that Jane runs on, which would be shared between
my university work and the archive (heavily in the archive's
favour, of course!)
If anyone wants to consider donating a hard
drive to my cause, please consider this. You may also want
to consider a Random Act of Kindess.

Webcast
Status |
I have most of the webcast now, and it's in the process of
being cleaned up for redistribution thanks to Simon from SMR
Productions. However, we're still missing a few files
- so if you have any, please email me.
Next thing we'll need is a complete copy of the 300k video
- if anyone has this please get
in touch straight away. The 56k video should be available
soon - but anyone with a perfect copy of that is also encouraged
to get in touch.
New shows going up all the time!

Neil
Finn and Friends |
Yes, I got to see Tuesday night's show (the better ones were
sold out by the time my friends all knew what night they could
actually make it)
.
And I pinched the setlists...
;)
Jon Brion the guitar technician was handing them out after
much persuasion, and I was given the first page. He handed
the second page to some young lady, and after I noticed it
wasn't another copy of the same document, but the second page,
I couldn't permit myself to leave with half a setlist!
So if you're the young lady
I pinched the second half of the setlist from your raised
hand, I am very sorry, and I'll send you a photocopy!)

Neil
Finn Solo Tour Posters |
.
You want one?
They're 300mm by 410mm - A3 size - on glossy paper. Unused.
I have 25 of them to donate to loving fans. They are not
for sale - I don't want to mess around with small numbers
of dollars, and they wouldn't be worth much. I'm not going
to rip people off and try and auction them or anything. Postage
will be a bitch on these, and I'd rather not fold them of
course (unless you really want a crinkled one) Will trade
them for a couple of CDRs full of music, which will equal
out in terms of cost and postage.
Email me - craig@dubculture.co.nz
- to register interest. I will take some time to reply however.

Updated
updates to the FTP site and amazing new show |
New
3.2gb hard disc in Jane. This means all around more space
and better experience for everyone.
When the cashflow increases again, it'll be a 20gb HDD in
a fast location. If anyone wants to send me a hard disc this
can happen immediately!
New show available - Neil
Finn Live at Founders Theatre, 6/02/01 - 1 DAY OLD! Available
on Jane Music first and exclusively. Unfortunately this
is an incomplete recording as my MD player died 2 tracks before
the end of the main set, so no encore either. Will try my
utmost to get these tracks cos the show was great. Neil's
new material shines.
Fan
club disc traders will require a new login and password to
access this material. Please email me privately for this information.

Updates
to the FTP site |
Jane
Music's FTP site is now running on a DSL connection so speeds
will be around 3 times faster than previous, and could end
up being ten times faster. The machine also has more RAM,
so you can expect not to get disconnected as much.
Some
new music up too - keep it coming, and join
the list if you haven't already.
Look out for a Jane Music ONLY gig - 1 day old - coming at
you in the next couple of days!

[19/02/01]:
Welcome
to the new Jane Music website |
Chances
are if you're here you've received an email out from me. Once
everyone has checked over the page I'll start telling more
people about it. Please check everything out, and report any
problems to Craig.
Why
is this site here? Basically, it's a front end to the new
Jane Music site that will be set up on a nice fast FTP connection..
well, as soon as I can get a hard disc. If anyone wants to
send me one, please e-mail
me.
The
"old" Jane site is still up and active - if you
used to use it, you can replace "nailed" with "dnsq"
in the host name and all the old details will work - if you
have never used it before, please wait until the new site
starts soon.

Palace
MP3s now available |
MP3s
of Neil's 4 Feb 2001 show at The Palace, London, can be found
in the audio section of Addicted.
They're only single songs, cut, quite a lot of hiss, but it's
up. When I get a copy of the whole thing, I'll put it online
in a CDR friendly format.
